AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S RELAY FOR LIFE OF BURBANK PARTNERS AGAIN WITH LOCAL FAMILY RESTAURANT FOR MONTH-LONG CAMPAIGN

Hill Street Café in Burbank will provide percentage of sales and raise awareness for the “Relay For Life of Burbank” in May

Monday, April 19th, Burbank, CA - Hill Street Café, a suburban family restaurant will work to help the American Cancer Society build awareness and garner funds for the Relay For Life of Burbank by donating a percentage of sales and promoting the cause during the month of May. This is the second year in a row that the two have teamed up.

Hill Street will be outfitting the restaurant with banners and posters to promote for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Burbank which is a 24 hour cancer walk to increase cancer education, prevention, and raise funds. Hill Street Cafe serves an average 500 people per day who will all learn about the cause and support the cause just by eating at the establishment.

Owner Charbel Ghabi became a major supporter of the American Cancer Society through family experience, and decided to get his business involved. “We were a part of the Relay For Life in Burbank last year and felt the tremendous impact that it made on the community by raising funds and awareness for this great event.”

Located at 3301 North Glenoaks Blvd. Burbank, CA 91504, restaurant hours are Sunday through Thursday 7am-10pm & Friday through Saturday 7am-11pm.

For more information about Hill Street Café and their campaign for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Burbank, see www.hillstreetcafeonline.com or contact Charbel Ghabi by phone at (818) 845-0046 or by e-mail at charbel@hillstreetcafeonline.com

For those unfamiliar with the Relay For Life springtime event, it is an overnight community effort where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue, dance and take turns walking around a track relay style to raise funds to fight cancer. As day turns to night, participants will light hundreds of luminaria around the track in an inspiring ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members who have died from the disease. The Relay For Life event represents hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. This year vow to remember three things: Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back. Relay For Life of Burbank will be held starting at 9 a.m., Saturday and Sunday, May 15th and 16th, at the Johnny Carson Park, 400 Bob Hope Dr., in Burbank. To get involved a Relay For Life in your community, call 1-800-ACS-2345, or visit www.RelayForLife.org/BurbankCA .

OPERATION SMILE AND HILL STREET CAFÉ IN BURBANK PARTNER UP FOR MONTH-LONG CAMPAIGN TO “SPREAD SMILES” AROUND THE WORLD

Hill Street will provide percentage of sales and raise awareness for
“Operation Smile” in July

Wednesday, July 1st, Burbank, CA - Hill Street Café, a suburban family restaurant is opening its doors again, this time to help Operation Smile build awareness and garner funds by donating a percentage of sales and promoting the cause during the month of July. Hill Street has just successfully concluded a similar campaign with the American Cancer Society in June to raise awareness for their Relay for Life of Burbank.

Operation Smile is a worldwide children’s medical charity. Their network of volunteers work around the world to repair childhood facial deformities including cleft lips and cleft palates. Since 1982, Operation Smile has provided new smiles to more than 130,000 children with a presence in 51 countries.

Hill Street Cafe has been a Burbank tradition for 5 years, serving “Homemade Style Cooking” where everything is made almost entirely from scratch. Charbel explains, “Our goal is to serve good food, fast with very outgoing, friendly customer service.”

This summer, Charbel decided to work with one charity every month, helping them raise money in this economy where donations have diminished along with everything else. The American Cancer Society was in June, Operation Smile is in July, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be the charity for the month of August. Hill Street is still searching for another charity for the month of September.

Restaurant hours are Sunday thru Thursday 7am-10pm & Friday thru Saturday 7am-11pm

For more information about Hill Street Café, see www.hillstreetonlinecafe.com or contact them by phone at (818) 845-0046 or by e-mail at charbel@hillstreetcafeonline.com

For those unfamiliar with Operation Smile, it was founded in 1982, is headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, and is a worldwide children’s medical charity whose network of global volunteers are dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children and young adults. In addition to contributing free medical treatment, Operation Smile trains local medical professionals in its partner countries and leaves behind crucial equipment to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency.
